I want to dye my Dyed Red Hair to a nice Medium Blonde. What Should I use?

I have curly fine hair and a lot of it, so it looks thick. I have not dyed my hair a lighter color in years. My Current hair color is as shown on the ION web site (I used this brand of color to dye my hair) http://www.ioncolorbrilliance.com/palett...

I used the #5 light red brown, but my hair turned out to look more like the #4 Medium Red Brown, now 3 months later it has more brown, so it is in between that and the #4 Medium Golden Brown.

I would like to change my hair to be in between the #7 Medium Golden Blonde and the #6 Dark golden blonde; But more on the medium side. Would mixing the #8 Light Gold Blonde with the #7 Medium Gold Blonde, or even with the #10 Lightest Gold Blonde work to achieve the color I want on my dark hair?

I would like a little help to know if this could work without bleaching my hair. I was going to use the Clairol Born Blonde kit, but after reading some reviews and not wanting my hair that light of a blonde I changed my mind. Thanks you for any help

I take it you shop at sally beauty!? ion is a great line!!! the colors always go a shade darker then what you would expect.you cant lighten hair color.if it has been a while sense you colored try running a little hair bleach for a bit then condition really good.then you should be able to color it what you want but be careful do not over process.oh use a filler on your hair( clear)after you bleach.it also might be better if you use a semi or demi color. hope this helps

Sounds like what you should use ... is a hairdresser, before you mess around and do some irreparable damage. Bald is NOT cute.

Going from red to blonde, especially a specific color, I would recommend only be done by a professional. They may just have to strip the color out and dye over that. You will not go from your color to the right shade of blonde. It will appear the red is gone but when you lighten it your roots and old growth wil be two totally different colors.

I guarantee you that if you are not a blonde and you use blonde hair dye on your hair it will not turn the color you want it to. I've tried so on more than one occasion, it never works. Use the bleach kits. They work, and they aren't so bad.. Tip: leave it on at first only on the ends of your hair to save your head from burning, the last 5-10 minutes put it on/near your roots to get the color out from there. When you have a lot of/long/thick hair you need more than one and maybe leave it on a bit longer. But honestly, if you want a specific go to a professional.. but if you're like me.. and just want to do it yourself, and trust yourself a bit better use the bleach kit and even use another product (can't remember what it's called, but you'll know if you see it) to take the orangey yellow color out if you want it not be noticeable through the blonde. Hope that helps. And by the way, anything with red tints are usually harder to take out of hair, so don't be frustrated! Good luck.

you should go to a professional. doing that durastic of a change will really damage your hair with at home color.

You need to head to a good colorist. The old color must be gently removed. Not something you should attempt at home. The product you chose will only lighten your roots, honey. This is a big job. Be patient with your colorist and realistic about your expectations. All hair color requires manintenence.
