What might happen if I use Cool Blonde L'oreal Color Pulse on my black hair? It's not permed, or colored, or anything. I have used a darker color of Color Pulse before to try to get brown highlights but it didn't even show up because my hair was too dark, so I'm using the lightest color possible. Any suggestions?

the only way to lighten black hair is to bleach it. Color is not strong enough. If you bleach, you have to bring your hair up to its lightest, then shampoo, condition, and blowdry. Then add a toner. Its a mild color that you can put on after a bleach.

I would worry about it turning brown/red. Black hair would be better with some caramel highlights or mahagony highlights added. I would get it done professionally not experiment with extremes!
Addt'l info: If it isn't permanent (bleach or lightener) then it will probably not even show on your hair. You will just be wasting your money. Sorry! Try something else!

If u dyed your hair black then nothing is going to happen to your hair you HAVE to bleach your hair in order to have the other color pop out......

I really suggest going to professional. I have dark brown hair..And i colored them sooo many times cause i wanted to go lighter and now my ends are messed up...so i had to cut my hair very short so they can regrow...trust me. Its worth giving up 50 bucks for hair color once then doing it urself 10 times...
I have dark brown hair and i had to color them at least 5 times with different products to go lighter and still no result..so i was stupid enough to bleach them:)....and when i decided to go back to dark brown i couldn't cause my ends were soo dry and overprocesssed...so roots would go dark brown but ends would stay very light....
